School Chaplain

Kingsley Primary School is committed to providing the best care possible for its Students and whole school community. A part of this care is the in School Chaplain who job it is to best assist the students, parents and staff with pastoral care and support. Kingsley Primary School partners with YouthCare, an organisation who provides in School Chaplains for public schools. KPS is involved in the support school chaplaincy program where a Chaplain comes into the school one day per fortnight to provide the care mentioned above.

 

Funded by the State Government in agreement with the Department of Education, YouthCARE Support Chaplaincy services & links an experienced Chaplain to a cluster of schools within a specific district or area. Support Chaplains are able to respond to a wide range of issues as directed by the School Principal and Administration team. The Support Chaplaincy program is currently supporting over 200 public schools state wide.

The Chaplaincy programs includes: 

- Pastoral Care support for staff, students and families.
- Additional support for the more serious or urgent pastoral needs within the school community.
- Providing a link between schools and local community based support and welfare organisations.
- Assistance with and attending significant school events where possible.
- Consultation and facilitation re: pastoral support programs and resources.
